Hare today, Philly in 22 weeks (or bust)

Chronicling the training for my first marathon in Philadelphia Nov. 22.

Again, I’m terrified

For my long run tomorrow. Not only am I practically flouting the advice of my book to rest a day before and after this long one, I’m tacking it on after three straight days of 4, 5 and 4 mile runs. It’s not my fault. My best friend was visiting. Wah wah. And so I crammed this whole pesky schedule into the back of my week.

Which is now. Kind of. I could’ve saved the 11 miles for Sunday, when the weather will also be conveniently better (rain is expected for tomorrow but I’m choosing to stop whining about it and just bring a windbreaker…and padding for my water damage-inclined iPhone?) and I’d be following the rest-day buffer gospel.

But. But. BUT. Tomorrow is the USC-Ohio State game. This is important. This requires drinking. Win or lose. It might now also involve the near-shattered-kneecap feeling of last week, but by God it will involve beer.

So… wish me luck.
