Hare today, Philly in 22 weeks (or bust)

Chronicling the training for my first marathon in Philadelphia Nov. 22.

Day 3

I was going to attempt a yoga class. But did not feel up for it.

Last night I ran what I estimated to be my 3 miles, as all the fancy iPhone apps I downloaded for the express purpose of tracking my distance could not locate me on GPS. So, in lieu of walking to the track, and then circling 12 times, I ran there and circled 10 3/4 times, stopping at right around the time I ran 3 miles the day before.

This run was tough. I’d been out most of the day, sunbathing and reading in the park, and then watching James Franco and Julia Roberts film a movie a few feet away, so by the time I returned home I only had the time and stomach for a handful of almonds before I had to squeeze my run in before that night’s plans. Bad idea. Obviously.

I was probably dehydrated and hungry. My breathing was more labored than usual and my last half lap was painful.

So… I’m still working on that whole food thing.
